NNSC Trip Policies

  1. Non-members and guests can participate at no more than 3 local ski/hike, dinner meetings and/or annual banquet events before membership is required.  

  2. All away trip participants and participants at local events held at member homes must be paid members of Northwest Nordic Ski Club (NNSC).

  3. When trip participation is limited, reservations will be accepted in the order in which they are received and before the application cutoff date.  If the trip fills up, a waiting list may be available to fill potential cancellations.

  4. Trip applications are accepted upon receipt of both trip application and initial deposit, if required. Applications are made online at www.nwnordicskiclub.com.

  5. Trip deposits and/or final payments paid by check, must be made out to NORTHWEST NORDIC SKI CLUB and include the trip name in the memo field. 

  6. Trips offering group housing will have an initial and a final deposit; failure to pay the final deposit will disqualify the individual from participating in group housing on future trips. Any person who believes that they may need to cancel participation for any reason should make personal accommodations at a local hotel rather than to elect group housing.

  7. Where trip leaders offer a choice of housing location or room, such requests will be honored on a first come basis but are in no cases guaranteed. Trip leaders have the final say in housing decisions as they must consider such factors as overall optimization of space and co-location of travel partners.

  8. Participants will be assessed a $10 add-on charge for rental housing to defer the cost of losses due to potential cancellations or unexpected costs.

  9. Trip costs may vary from the estimated cost at the time of signup.

  10. For group rental housing (i.e., not hotel/motel accommodations booked individually by members), the trip leader will assign accommodations. A discount may be made for individuals or couples sharing a bedroom or any individual sleeping in nonstandard overflow accommodations (e.g., floor space).

  11. Initial and second trip deposits are generally nonrefundable; however, the leader may make exceptions if the club is able to recover all committed costs. The club is not responsible for costs incurred individually by members, such as for air transportation, meals and groceries, and resort fees.

  12. Trip leaders may modify or add to trip policies according to the specific needs of the group and destination.
