Jan 26th-Feb 2nd

Connecticut

At long last here are some details for our week long ski trip to Connecticut.  The trip will take place Sunday, January 27 to Saturday, February 2.  We will be staying at the Wake Robin Inn (www.wakerobininn.com) in Lakeville, Ct.  The Inn includes complimentary continental breakfast daily.  Some of the places to ski are Cranwell Resort (www.cranwellresort.com), Bucksteep Manor (www.bucksteepmanor.com), Canterbury Farm Ski Touring Center (www.canterbury-farms.com) and Winding Trails Cross Country Ski Center (www.windingtrails.com).  There are also numerous state parks and forests in the area that have ungroomed trails good for snowshoeing.  Downhill ski trails are also nearby.  Want to take a day off from skiing?  No problem.  The train station is only 15 minutes from the Inn with service to New York City to take in a play on Broadway of just see the sights.  Cost of the trip will be approximately $1270 and includes six nights at the Inn, non-stop round trip airfare on American from O'Hare to Newark and car rental (based on three people per car).  Gasoline costs will be pooled and split among those that go.  Trail fees and meals are individual costs.  As the airfare is the only cost that is non-refundable that will be the amount of deposit I will need to reserve your trip.  Airfare is $220 per person.  I will make the deposit due by December 15 so I can order the tickets before the plane fills up.  Remaining balance will be due by January 15.  Make checks out to NNSC and mail to Don Ami, 905 N Cove Dr, Palatine, Il 60067.  I can also take them at the December meeting.  If you are thinking of going send me an e-mail so I have an idea how many cars I have to reserve.
